Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal structures and components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, arc, or gas welding. This role involves interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, setting up equipment, and performing precise welds to meet project specifications and quality standards. The Welder ensures the durability, strength, and safety of metal products while maintaining compliance with workplace safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Perform welding processes such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, or gas welding based on project requirements.
- Inspect welds to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, or shaping metal components before welding.
- Repair and maintain metal products, machinery, or structural components through welding.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper handling of welding equipment.
- Maintain welding tools, machines, and work areas in good condition.
- Collaborate with fabricators, assemblers, and other team members to complete projects.
- Document work performed and report defects or issues to supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training in welding is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in fabrication, construction, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Skilled in using welding tools, grinders, and cutting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments (indoor, outdoor, confined spaces).
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, TESDA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or in hazardous conditions depending on project requirements.
- Willing to be assigned full-time in Tondo, Manila.
