JOB TITLE: Visual Merchandising Officer (VMO)
The Visual Merchandising Officer (VMO) is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining effective visual merchandising strategies and displays that showcase furniture and mon-fumiture products. The role ensures that the presentation enhances product visibility, appeals to target customers, and drives sales in retail or showroom environments. This position works closely with production teams, marketing, and sales to align merchandising efforts with brand guidelines and business objectives.

JOB SUMMARY
The Visual Merchandising Officer (VMO) is responsible for creating and implementing visually appealing displays in retail stores to enhance product appeal and increase sales. They focus on designing store layouts and product arrangements, ensuring they align with the brand's identity and target market. This role involves creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate visual concepts into compelling displays.
The VMO creates and executes eye-catching product displays, store layouts, and overall visual concepts to attract customers and drive sales. They ensure that all visual merchandising efforts align with the store's brand identity, target market, and product offerings.
The VMO adept at maximizing available space within the store to create a visually appealing and customer-friendly environment.
The VMO informed about the latest visual merchandising trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve their work.
The VMO analyzes the effectiveness of their displays and makes necessary adjustments to optimize performance and maximize sales. Work closely with store managers, other visual merchandisers, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive and effective visual merchandising strategy.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1- Visual Merchandising Strategy & Implementation:
• Develop and execute innovative visual merchandising concepts for furniture and non-furniture products that attract customers and promote brand identity.
• Design and set up showroom displays, in-store layouts, window displays, and promotional setups.
• Collaborate with the production team to understand product features, specifications, and benefits for accurate representation.
• Ensure visual merchandising adheres to company standards and enhances customer experience.
2- Product Presentation & Display Management:
• Arrange furniture and non-furniture items in a way that maximizes aesthetic appeal and functionality.
• Managé product rotation and update displays regularly based on new arrivals, promotions, and seasonal trends.
• Ensure displays are clean, well-organized, and free from damage or defects.
• Utilize signage, lighting, props, and other merchandising tools to enhance product appeal.
3- Quality Assurance & Control:
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards and design specifications.
• Conduct inspections at various production stages.
• Address defects or customer complaints through root cause analysis.
4- Materials & Inventory Management:
• Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of raw materials.
• Monitor material usage and minimize waste.
• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Manage budgets effectively to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Minimize material wastage and improve resource utilization.
• Maintain accurate stock records and reorder levels.
5- Training & Development:
• Train retail/showroom staff on visual merchandising standards and product knowledge.
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor displays, and emerging merchandising techniques.
6- Client & Stakeholder Coordination:
• Work with marketing, sales, and procurement to align merchandising with sales campaigns and promotions.
• Communicate product information and visual guidelines to the showroom or retail teams.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors for display materials and fixtures as needed.
7- Operational and Project Deployment Leadership:
• Oversee daily production and field operations and deployment to achieve efficiency and output targets.
• Ensure seamless integration of production activities with supply chain, maintenance, and logistics.
• Implement and maintain best industry practices in production and field operations.
8- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) & Employee Well-being:
• Implement and enforce safety protocols in the workshop and on-site.
• Ensure compliance with labor and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
9- Performance Management:
• Supports the Performance Management System Process; setting objectives and track the success of design and innovation initiatives. Support PAMS & OGSM corporate program.
10- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
• Monitor the effectiveness of merchandising strategies through sales data, customer feedback, and foot traffic.
• Provide regular reports and recommendations to management on merchandising performance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in merchandising and presentation.
11- Other Responsibilities:
• Performs other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design, Visual Merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience in visual merchandising, preferably in furniture or home décor sectors.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or operations management role.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or production efficiency methods preferred
• Strong understanding of furniture design, materials, and non-furniture product categories
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and visual planning tools
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Planning, scheduling, and resource allocation skills
• Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
• Ability to analyze sales data and customer behavior
• Excellent creativity and design sense
• Knowledge of current trends in retail visual merchandising
